FOUNDER and Chapter President 2015 – 2016
In speaking with Mr. Wayne Davis about starting the Colonel Alexander Erwin Chapter, he stated that when he started the chapter there was only two members, including himself.
Both had been members of the Catawba Valley Chapter in Hickory, North Carolina and felt that a closer chapter was needed. So, he approached the state SAR with a list of ten names initially, and they helped get the new chapter started.
Mr Davis was the driving force; organizing and planning meetings prior to the CAESAR becoming a chartered chapter, working with Bob Pruett and Scott Coley to get membership approved through the National Association of the Sons of the American Revolution and he was instrumental to the naming of the Chapter.
The CAESAR was chartered on September 12, 2015, as the 25th chapter in North Carolina and the ceremony was held at the Capt. Charles McDowell House.
