How can I become a member of my local SAR Chapter?
Thank you for your interest in joining SAR, the easiest way is just send an email to:
[email protected] or Tom Lesser, at [email protected]
Include in your email:
Your full name
Your address and telephone number
Day, month, and year of birth
Where you were born
Your parents’ names, including mother’s maiden name (birthdays and locations if you know them)
If you know them the same information for your grandparents
If you think you know the name of your Patriot ancestor
If you have any sort of family tree, send that along, everything helps.
Questions, please ask.
Not immediately, but we will need a scan/photo of your birth certificate (hopefully showing your father’s name and mother’s maiden name). If you don’t have a copy, you should order one.
We may need a birth or death certificate for your father and mother. Again, if you do not have them you should order them.
It is not necessary, but if you want to include your wife in your SAR application, we will need at least a scan of your marriage license or certificate, and if you have it her birth certificate.
If you have certificates for grandparents, please send them.

How can I support my local SAR Chapter?
Attend our monthly meetings. Everyone is invited and there is a presentation on a subject relating to the American Revolution at almost every meeting.
Come out to a SAR event. We do ceremonies to honor and mark Revolutionary War Patriot graves, educational programs, and much more.
Watch these pages, follow us on Facebook, or send us an email and ask to be put on our contact list.
Volunteer for a Chapter event. Have you got your Revolutionary War kit or uniform? Know some history? Join us in helping to educate the public. We are all volunteers.
Donations are always welcome. Educational materials, grave markers, flags, etc.; everything cost money. We are extremely grateful for any donation that can help us honor our Revolutionary War patriot ancestors by promoting patriotism, serving our communities, and educate and inspire future generations about the founding principles of our Country
