Battle Weekend not the Wreath Laying Anniversary Event

Saturday, June 21st, 10am – 4pm, Battle of the Ramsour’s Mill reenactment and living history demonstration.

Sunday, June 22nd, 10am – 3pm, Living history demonstrations and firing demonstrations.

Event Parking: In the grass practice field adjacent to the Battlefield. GPS Coordinates: 35.477842, -81.266244

There will be water, ice bags, straw, firewood, and large Porta-Johns. Breakfast Saturday, dinner Saturday Eve.

If you intend to come, please fill this out so we can start getting a head count. Also, share it with others who might be interested in coming and participating in a battle. The more of you we have, the better chance of us having a battle instead of a firing demo. Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Welcome to the Catawba Valley Chapter, SAR. Formed under the NC Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, we are one more than 590 local chapters throughout the United States. Our Mission is to honor our Revolutionary War patriot ancestors by promoting patriotism, serving our communities and educating and inspiring future generations about the founding principles of our Country. Our members do that in a variety of ways including Patriot Grave Markings, working with high school JROTC units and Boy Scout troops, presenting information programs to schools and civic groups, and supporting area SAR Chapters, DAR Chapters, and other allied organizations.
We would love to have you join us and will be more than happy to aid you in the application process to become a Member of the Sons of the American Revolution. With the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence upcoming in 2026, there is no better way to Honor your Patriot Ancestor!
